A group attacked three youths affiliated with the youth wing of Nepali Congress, Nepal Tarun Dal in Nepalganj at a restaurant near Dhomboji Chowk on September 18. They were attacked with sharp weapons by the group at around 10:30 pm. Nepal Tarun Dal Nepalgunj president Sandeepjung Shah, Tarun Dal member Ghamanda Khadka, and a resident of Ghorahi Sub-metropolitan City-14 Dang, Amar Roka sustained serious injury in the attack. Among the injured, Khadka's condition is critical.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident. The arrested have been identified as  32-year-old Binod Khadka of Nepalgunj sub-metropolitan city-12 Koreanpur and 30-year-old Deepak Thapa of Khajura rural municipality-1. Police arrested them from Khajura rural municipality-3 on Thursday. Police are further investigating the incident.
