KATHMANDU, Dec 3: Metropolitan Police Circle Office, Kamalpokhari on Monday arrested a retired police inspector Purna Lal Shrestha, 55, of Siphal, Kathmandu, for allegedly attacking a 13-year old girl repeatedly. After the girl´s parents filed a complaint, the police arrested Shrestha from his residence near Ratopul, according to DSP Mukesh Kumar Singh, chief at the Circle Office. “We are questioning the accused. So far, he has denied the crime,” he said. According to the complaint, Shrestha had made two attempts of killing the girl in the past five days and had been following the girl on her way to and back from school. The girl was being harassed in public places by Shrestha who used to tease her frequently for the past few years, the police said.
