The family of Asha Devi Mandal, 20, of Itari Prasahi VDC-1 has field an FIR at District Police Office on December 21 claiming that she was murdered. Her father, Indrajit Mandal of Birpur in Madhubani district in India claimed that Asha’s father-in-law Niranjan Mandal, 45, mother-in-law Jahari Mandal, 41 and brother-in-law, Pappu Mnadal had beaten her to death on December 11. Indrajit claimed that when Asha became seriously injured in the beating, the in-laws forced fed poison to her and informed the police of her death as suicide. They even cremated the body after post mortem without informing her parents. The deceased got married to Prem Chandra Mandal in March 2010 and is abroad for work since last year but her in-laws were tormenting her with demands of dowries. SP Purna Chandra Joshi said that the police would proceed with the investigation as it sounded suspicious. D
