Cadres of Netra Bikram Chand-led group has taken the responsibility for beating and severely injuring Gyanendra Joshi, Alital Rural Municipality Committee chairperson of ruling Nepal Communist Party. An unidentified group had severely beaten Joshi, breaking his knee and severely injuring his hand on January 31 while he was going to attend the meeting of ward 3 of Alital Rural Municipality. The group also vandalized his motorcycle. Netra Bikram Chand-led group later owned up the responsibility for the attack on Joshi citing that he had been involved in various corruption cases.
