On Monday, Nepali Congress Saptari staged a demonstration in Rajbiraj protesting against the conspiracy case lodged against their leader Bijay Kumar Gachhadar regarding Lalita Niwas land dispute and the arrest of their cadres in Dakneshwor Municipality incident. 

The protest rally started from a local stadium wandered around the city, while the participating leaders and activists chanted slogans against the government. The rally converted into a protest assembly at Shahid Dashan Chowk. The leaders who addressed the assembly said that CIAA under the government's influence conspiringly filed a case against Gachhadar. 

According to Dinesh Kumar Yadav, Chairperson of Nepali Congress Saptari District chapter, the three cadres arrested in the Dakneshwor Municipality incident were innocent. He added that they were their just to draw the attention of Mayor towards the Municipality's opacity but the police unnecessarily arrested them and lodged a complaint under inhumane treatment. He also warned that they will continue their protest if the arrested cadres are not released immediately.
