Siraha/ March 4 Mahendra Yadav, 42, and Badri Yadav, 50, of Asanpur VDC -2 have been arrested by the Area Police Office of Mirchaya for accusing and beating Sabur Devi Yadav, 45, of same place for witchcraft on March 3. According to the victim, she was accused of being a witch by Jamuna Devi Yadav, wife of Badri Yadav during the village fair on March 3, and was beaten that very night at around 10 pm by three of them. The victim’s nephew, Ashok Yadav, 16, was also beaten and injured when he tried to stop the scuffling. Sabur Devi and her nephew have been going through treatment at Sri Ram Hospital, Golbazzar. Inspector Narashraj Subedi of Area police office, Mirchya told that the accused were arrested as soon as the information came to their notice. He further added that the accused would go on trial according to the law. Jamuna Devi Yadav has been on a run ever since the incident and police are searching for her, it is informed. D
