Gulmi / February 16

Service seekers have been hit hard after UCPN-M affiliated All Nepal Peasants' Association (ANPA)-2007 padlocked Land Revenue Office in the district on February 16.

The ANPA padlocked the office protesting that the government decided to withdraw its earlier decision to legalize the conflict-era dealings made by the then 'people's government'.

ANPA central member Bir Bahadur Karki said the protest will continue until a permanent solution to the conflict ear dealing was sought by legalizing the conflict-era property and land dealings.

Krishna Prasad Bhandari of Johang VDC, who had come to the land Revenue Office today, said that he could not get service related to registration of land as the office was closed due to the padlocking.

The agitators had padlocked the office in the morning and it was opened with the initiation of district police office in the afternoon.

"We could not provide service to the people visiting the office as staff denied to work after ANPA had padlocked the office earlier today," Bijaya Rana, chief at District Land Revenue Office said.
