An unidentified group of 7 people attacked Saroj Dhoj Bhandari, a central member of All Nepal National Free Students Union(ANNFSU) at Santichowk of Ratnanagar Municipality Ward-3, Chitwan on August 9, 7:45 pm with the intention of killing him. He was attacked with a khukuri and a rod and has sustained injuries in his body.

Bhandari, who came into the limelight for "Clean Chitwan, Green Chitwan, Better Chitwan" campaign, is suspicious that he might have been attacked with the intention of thwarting the campaign. Lately, he has been vehemently opposing the MCC.

A search for the attackers is underway.
