Police arrested a 30-year-old Rajan Bishwakarma of Dhading, Siddhalekh Rural Municipality Ward-7, Dhading on August 10 on the charge of rape and fraud on the pretext of marriage. He was arrested from Kathmandu, Thankot check post at Chandragiri Municipality Ward-6.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused had married a woman saying he is Rajan Shrestha, an unmarried man, and stayed in a rented room from July 31- August 5. The accused eloped with 200000 rupees cash, a mobile phone, a gold ring, and a gold chain on August 6.

According to the Metropolitan Police Circle, Thankot, further investigation is underway against Rajan as per the Criminal Code, 2017.
