On August 25, the Nepali Congress (NC) Solukhumbu staged a sit-in protest in front of the District Administration Office demanding the unconditional release of six Tarun Dal cadres and leaders within 24 hours. They were arrested on August 23 for allegedly assaulting on-duty police personnel posted at Ramitey, Solududhakunda Municipality Ward-11, under the influence of alcohol.
Nepali Congress District President Binod Basnet has warned to start more agitation programs if their innocent cadres are not released. They have also accused his cadres of being falsely blamed and tortured in custody.
