Teachers in Baitadi agitated over non-payment of their salaries

The Private Resource Teachers' Struggle Committee of the community school of Sigas village municipality of Baitadi  issued a statement on November 29 with 24-hour  warning to the rural municipal office demanding the release of their salaries as soon as possible as they have not received their salaries since last March.

They have further demanded that SIGAS Volunteer Teacher Procedure, 2019 should be implemented, tithe allowance, dress allowance and other facilities should be made available to them, salary allowance should be arranged as per the Labor Act and teacher allowance quota should be released.

There are 191 private teachers working in various community schools of Sigas village. In the midst of the corona virus pandemic, they struggled due to non-payment of salaries. Meanwhile, chief of the education branch of the rural municipality claimed that it was due to non-disbursement of revenue.
