On January 31, 2016, five demonstrators were injured in a clash with police after the former tried to stage demonstration before NC leader Lila Koirala’s residence at Brahampuri in Janakpur as a part of their protest program. In the scuffle, four policemen also sustained minor injuries. More than 300 demonstrators were gathered to protest the NC’s convention in the district headquarters. The situation in Janakpur had turned tense. Local demonstrators also pelted stones on police.
