Kathmandu,Khelkud mantri virudh sarvocch ma avhelna muddha. KATHMANDU: Member Secretary of the National Sports Council Yubaraj Lama today filed a contempt of court case against Sports Minister Purushottam Paudel for disrespecting a Supreme Court order. Lama has stated that despite Supreme Court interlocutory stay order against his sacking, the minister had asked him not to come to the office by issuing a letter on June 9. Lama has sought optimum sentence for Paudel, who is also the ex-officio chairman of NSC. Stating that an interlocutory stay order is effective till the next hearing or any further order of the apex court in the case, Lama has filed the petition seeking up to one year jail sentence, along with a fine of up to Rs 10,000, against the minister as per Article 102(3) of the Interim Constitution of Nepal, 2007, and Section 7(1) of the Supreme Court Act, 1992. In the letter, the minister had told him not to attend the NSC in capacity of member secretary from June 10. Lama has stated in his petition that he received the letter on June 11. He was working in capacity of member secretary as per the order of the Supreme Court issued on June 9, adds the petition. He has claimed that the minister should be told to appear before the court in person to face contempt of court proceedings. Earlier, the minister had sacked Lama on May 16. Lama had moved the apex court against the decision, claiming that he was appointed for four years on June 10, 2011.
