Makawanpur/June 16 The District court of Makawanpur has slapped 10-year imprisonment and fine of Rs 15,000 to an elderly person on charge of raping a speech impaired woman. A single bench of District judge Dipendra Adhikari on June 15 gave his verdict against Jagat Bahadur Bal Lama, 69, of Palung VDC-2. The accused had raped a 43-year-old woman near a local forest on February 1 while she was fetching grasses. Based on the complaint lodged by the victim’s party on February 1, the accused was arrested by the police on February 2. The victim underwent medical checkup at District Hospital of Hetauda on February 2. The victim had confessed his guilt at district court. P
