Police have arrested Morang district treasurer of Nepali Congress affiliated sister organization Tarun Dal Anil Rijal on Monday, on the charge of beating his girlfriend. A complaint was lodged against Rijal, (39), of Biratnagar Metropolitan-2, Morang, on January 6 alleging the accused brutally beat the victim on December 30.
The left hand finger of the victim has been broken due to the attack.
Man Bahadur Rai, Deputy Superintendent of Police of District Police Office, Morang, said that Rijal was admitted to the hospital immediately after showing the problem of paralysis. Rai said they have extended five days time from the court for investigating upon the accused.
