Kul Bahadur KC, chairman of Nepal Tarun Dal Raptisonari Rural municipality Bake, was attacked by the cadres of a youth association close to the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) on January 29. A group of 8/9 people including Sanam alias Sandeep Bishta, Sunil Pariyar, Dilip Dangi and Rishi Raj Devkota led by Saroj Bishta alias 'Sameer' who is also the president of the youth association Raptisonari attacked KC.
The injured KC said that they threatened to kill him and his father if the incident was made public and he is still unclear about the reason behind the attack. The group also beat up local Tikaram Oli who went to rescue KC.
They have repeatedly beaten, attacked and threatened people protesting against illegal activities. Earlier, three or four cases have been registered against Sameer. They were also alleged of smuggling woods from the Raptisonari area as well as controlling resources of rivers and streams.
