23-year-old Koshiladevi of Dakneshwari Municipality-8 was brutally beaten by a group over a witchcraft allegation on June 3, 2020. The victim alleges that her baby born on June 9, 2020, died on July 1, 2020, as a result of the assault.
She filed a writ petition at Janakpur Rajbiraj High Court against the attackers after her complaint was not registered at the Area Police Office, Kalyanpur. Following the order of the Janakpur High Court issued on February 18, Area Police Office Kalyanpur has registered the victim's complaint against 45-year-old Rajkumar Mukhiya, 45, 40-year-old Jeevan Mukhiya, 56-year-old Laxmi Mukhiya, 40-year-old Ramakant Mukhiya, 21-year-old Sanjiv Mukhiya, 20-year-old Suraj Mukhiya, and 20-year-old Santosh Mukhiya. According to the police, the search operation is underway as the accused are absconding.
