Murder‚ robbery convict held after 11 years

Rautahat,11 barsha pachi lutpaat ra hatya ka aropit giraftar. RAUTAHAT: Police have arrested a convict of murder and robbery charges, who had been absconding for the past 11 years. The arrestee Brijananda Pandey Bhumihaar (51), of Bhalohiya-7, Rautahat, was arrested from his own residence on Thursday morning, by a special team of Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police. According to police, the Bhumihaar had conducted a robbery at the house of one Suresh Pandey of Bhalohiya-6. After robbing the house off Rs 25,000 in cash, Bhumihaar had also shot dead Pandey. A district court verdict issued on September 22, 2003 had held Bhumihaar guilty of his involvement in the crime. The court had sentenced a jail term of 10 years against him. According to SP Umesh Ranjitkar, Bhumihaar was produced before the district court on Thursday itself.
