Police arrested 16-year-old Suman Giri and Shikhar Thapa of Triveni Municipality-8, on May 3, on the charge of setting fire on two teenage girls in Malalgaun, Triveni Municipality-9 of Bajura.

The victims, 14- and 16-year-old girls had gone to Malalgaun to attend a wedding where the accused took them to a secluded spot and allegedly set them on fire by sprinkling petrol on them. After the 14-year-old girl managed to escape and informed the locals, the fire was put off. Both the girls have been injured in the incident. According to the police, the back and waist of the 16-year-old girl were burnt.
