Differently Able Woman Forced to Stay in Cowshed

Danshree BK, 27, of Phirphire1 has been forced to stay in cowshed by her family for the past four years.

 

Danshree, who is a differently able has been captivated by family members in a nearby cowshed for the past four years, locals said on March 20.

 

"As Danshree could not move around the house due to her physical condition, her father Buddhi Bahadur BK captivated her in the cowshed," a local Bel Bahadur BK said, adding that no family members has been helping her to go for the purpose of toilet.  Doctors of Pokhara based Hariyokharka Hospital visited the house and suggested family members not to keep her in the cowshed, however, she is still forced to stay in the cowshed which lies some 20 meters from the house.

 

Family members are not taking care of Danshree, said Dhrubaraj Lamichanne, secretary of Phirphire VDC, adding that she has not received any support from the VDC so far.

 

Various organizations are working for the rights of differently able people in the district, however,

they express their ignorance when asked about condition of Danshree.
