Saptari, Balak ko hattya gari buwa farar Shrawan Kang Khatwe, 35, of Kupahi in Kochabakhari VDC-9 has absconded after killing his 8-year-old son, a complaint registered at the District Police Office on July 27 said. According to SI Rajesh Subedi of the case department of DPO, a murder charge has been filed against Shrawan based on the complaint lodged by Sitaram Khang Khatwe, maternal grandfather of the child. Body of the boy was found near the banks of Ghodadaha river in Barahi Birpur VDC-1 on July 25. He was attacked with an axe in head. The axe used in the incident was found 2 meters away from the body, said DSP Kedar Dhakal. The DPO said that search for the absconding Shrawan was ongoing. Locals said that the mother of the deceased had committed suicide a year ago. Autopsy of the body of the deceased was performed at Zonal Hospital in Rajbiraj Municipality-3 on July 26. The body was handed to Sitaram after post-mortem, according to the hospital. Motive behind the incident is still not clear, police said.
