Saptari, ASI biruddha ko ujuri prahari le darta nagareko gunaso. July 25, Rukmini Devi Mandal, 28, of Rampura Malhaniya VDC-9 has claimed that the police had refused to register her complaint against ASI Swarna Kumar Yontangwen, 35, of Rampura Malhaniya police post. She told INSEC district representative on July 25 that she and her uncle Bholai Mandal had gone to file the complaint on July 21 but were turned back. She has also urged help to get justice saying the police had tortured the family. According to her, the police had called her at the police station at around 10 am on July 19 in relation to a domestic dispute where she was physically assaulted by the police and made to sit under a bed for an hour. She added that she was allowed to leave the station at around 7 pm after her family members and neighbours protested against the police action. Her sister-in-law Rekha Devi Mandal, 30, had verbally complaint to police about her on the early morning of July 19. INSEC could not contact the accused for comment when called at the number of ASI (9842765576) provided by the District Police Office.
