KJWP to Handover Arms to the Govt

Khotang, Kirat Janabadi workers party le sarkar lai hatiyar bhujaune July 28, Kirant Janawadi Workers Party (KJWP) has expressed commitment to participate in peaceful politics by handing over the arms and weapons to the government. The group has been carrying out armed activities in eastern Nepal. Talks coordinator of KJWP (Bidrohi group) Bharun Kiranti said that the party has expressed commitment to submit the details of weapons to the government talks team after the government expressed commitment to meet their demands. He said that four point agreement has been reached during the meeting. The agreement includes creation of mutual trustful environment between the government and the KJWP to engage peacefully in writing the constitution, initiation taken by government to solve the KJWP's issues, government team taking the issues of constitution writing raised by KJWP seriously, among others. The KJWP talks team included Bharun Kirati, Sankenma Kirati, Viru Kirati and Kirawa. Similarly, government talks team included coordinator Ananda Dhungana, members Ashok Rai, RK Khumbu, Surendra Pandey, Shakti Basnet, Sarvendra Sukla and joint secretary of ministry of home affairs and peace and reconstruction. The dialogue was facilitated by Bhishma Raj Angdangbe and RK Khumbu. Prior to this, the government has held talks with KJWP six times. The last talks between the government and the KJWP was held at Dhulikhel, Kavre on July 2, 2013.
