July 29, Laxmi Devi Chalaune, 21, of Dhaku VDC-3 has committed suicide by hanging herself after hanging her seven-month-old son at home on July 27. She committed the act when all her family had gone to field, DSP Dipendra Shahi of District Police Office said. The bodies of both mother and son were brought to district headquarters Mangalsain on July 28. DSP Shahi said that nobody had yet filed a complaint regarding the case adding that they were investigating.
