Kanchaa Lama, a 59-year-old resident from Rapti municipality-9, Shital Chowk was murdered, as reported by the head of Chitwan District Police Om Adhikari. Police arrested the accused 50-year-old Dasrath Thakuri who happens to be the neighbour of the deceased. According to Police, Thakuri killed Lama by hitting him with an iron rod on the head, when two got into a dispute while having dinner together on the evening of September 17.
There was a clash between locals at the incident site when police tried to recover the dead body and arrest the accused. Police had to fire in the air to control the locals. Five including an inspector and 2 locals got injured in the process who are now being treated in the hospital. The dead body of the deceased is kept at Bharatpur Hospital.
