Puspa Limbu, a 17-year-old girl, originally from Fakhtalung rural municipality-3  was found dead near the jungle in Phunglung Municipality-7 on September 24. She lived in Phungling with her sister in a rented room and was studying in grade 11 at Bhanujan Secondary School. The deceased left her room after midnight on September 24 and her dead body was found 2 kilometres from her residence in the morning. Her mobile is also missing. 

The dead body was recovered half-naked with marks of injury. Her relatives have suspected her death of murder and demanded a serious investigation of the incident by the police. They have denied receiving the dead body until the culprit is identified and arrested by the police. Meanwhile, the DSP of Taplejung Bal Narsingh Rana said that they are investigating the incident from all possible angles and there will be more clarity after the postmortem report comes out.

On the charge of Limbu's murder, police arrested Ram Karki, a tractor driver from Furumbu in Fungling Municipality-10. Karki has already confessed to the murder, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Bal Narasingh Rana. In his statement, the accused admitted that he had been in love with the girl for nine months, she was also pregnant with his child and that he tricked her and pushed her down the hill by poisoning her near Sete Chautara in Phungling Municipality-5. As per further investigations, it has come to the light that the accused also raped the victim before killing her.
