Bara, Balika balatkar aaropit giraftar. Devan Singh Syangtan, 45, of Nijgadh Municipality-1 has been arrested by the police on August 6 on charge of raping a 13-year-old girl. The accused was arrested based on the complaint lodged by the victim's family on August 5. They accused Syangtan of raping the girl on July 20, said SI Bharat Dura of Nijgadh area police office. Police said that the incident was not made public as the locals tried to settle the case in the village. The victim underwent a health checkup at Narayani Sub-zonal hospital at Birgunj on August 6. The accused, who is also a priest at a monastery has been accused of raping a girl in the evening of July 20.
