Police have reportedly refused to start an investigation into the incident of physical assault on a woman residing in Manav Sewa Ashram of Sarlahi. Family members of Rekha Kumari Karki of Sarlahi who was residing in the Ashram went to the police after the operator of the Ashram beat Rekha Kumari and sent her home but police have refused to file a complaint in the case.
The victim's family is preparing to go to the office of the government attorney's office after Area Police Office Hariwan and District Police Office Sarlahi refused to register a complaint in the case.
The victim's family reported that she was beaten black blue by the operators a month after she was admitted to the Ashram and returned her home. Rekha Kumari suffers from mental illness.
