Children's park in Sindhuli Kamalamai padlocked

The ruling coalition party including Congress, the Maoist Center, the JaSaPa and the Unified Socialistspadlocked the children's park at Loktantrik Chowk saying that the Kamalamai municipality was trying to unveil the statue without the consent of all parties. The Kamalamai Municipality was preparing to unveil the statues of BP and Pushpalal at children's  Park via UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel on November 10.

According to the coalition, the main gate of the park was locked and a black flag was hoisted as Pokhrel was brought into the party ignoring the federal and state governments. After the Kamalamai Municipality has decided the program of Sindhuligadhi Victory Day and unveiling of the statue, the ward chairpersons of the Congress and the CPN (Maoist) have boycotted the meeting of the Kamalamai Municipal Executive Committee. UML has a single majority in Kamalamai municipality including the mayor and deputy mayor.

A statement issued by the coalition party said that the party would boycott the event if the decision was not corrected. A statement issued by the coalition party stated that they were ready to help in celebrating the victory and unveiling the statue if they also have the ownership in the decision.

Mayor of Kamalamai Municipality Khadga Bahadur Khatri has requested the coalition parties not to protest saying that former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Pokharel has been invited as the chief guest at the victory celebration as he laid the foundation stone of the war museum in Sindhuligadhi.
