Nepalgunj, balatkaar ko arop ma 5 jana maathi ujuri. NEPALGUNJ, AUG 08 - The Banke District Police Office (DPHO) has filed a case against five persons on the charge of raping an 18-year-old girl at Nepalgunj-5 in the district on Wednesday. The DPHO on Thursday filed a case against Ajib Sunar, Suman BC, Saroj BC, Dal Bahadur DC and Hari Khadka on the accusation of rape. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sushil Singh Rathaur said on Thursday they have filed the case on behalf of the victim as they could not contact her relatives. The victim, who hails from Rukum district, was raped at the Nepalgunj Bus Park in a bus. In her complaint to the police, the victim has said that Suman was the assistant to the driver of the same bus that she had boarded from Rukum. She was travelling to Banke to visit her maternal house at Shamshergunj. According to her, when she tried to get off at her destination, Suman seized her mobile phone and belongings, telling her that she could get off only after the bus had reached its final stop, at Nepalgunj Bus Park. After the bus pulled over at the stop, Suman and his four other friends reportedly forced themselves on the girl and raped her in the bus. DSP Rathore said that DC is the owner of the bus that the victim had boarded while the other suspects--Saroj BC and Hari Khadka--work as bus drivers in Nepalgunj. Suman, who hails from Tulsipur of Dang district , and Ajib, who is a native of Narayan Municipality in Dailekh district, have been held as the prime suspects in the incident, DSP Rathore said. The victim is currently under the care of the non-profit social organisation, Sathi. She is receiving treatment, the organisation’s representative said. Meanwhile, Speaker Subas Nembang has directed the government to inform the Legislature-Parliament about the Nepalgunj rape incident.
