Children Held Hostage in Church Handed Over to Parents

Humla,bandhak baalbalikalaai abhivavahak ko jimma lagayiyeko. Humla/ August 8 Six children out of 11 who were held hostage at a Church in Morang have been handed over to their parents on August 6. The incident was revealed after the locals found out the children were seeking for food. The incident was reported to the NHRC Morang after which they were rescued by District Child Welfare Committee, INSEC and CWIN. The remaining five children will be rescued as soon as the flight resumes, said Kunga Sendup Lama, officer of District Child Welfare Committee. Kiran Buda, 34 of Syanda VDC-4 had brought the children to the Church from the district on April 23 under the pretext of providing them higher education. Each child was charged Rs 20,000 in the name of air fare, according to a parent Dhanmal Buda. The accused, Kiran Buda is out of contact and his search is ongoing, according to Inspector Shambhu Prasad Sitaula of DPO. The children are aged between 12-14 and hail from Syada VDC-4. Five of the children who are yet to be taken to the district are being taken care by CWIN Nepalgunj.
