Maya Tamang, 25, of Boldephedi VDC-9, Kavre District and currently living at Koteshwor of Kathmandu Municipality-35 has lodged a complaint at police office on August 14 against her husband Sonam Tamang, 31, accusing him of beating her. She accused her husband of having an extra-marital affair and not looking after her. The victim said that she was compelled to lodge a complaint at Women and Children Service Center after the accused thrashed her again on August 11. The accused inflicted torture, both mentally and physically to the victim and deprived her and children of food and cloths and started living with another woman in Thankot. She asked for her financial and physical security and action against the accused under Domestic Violence Act 2066. Inspector Sushila Pradhan of Woman and Children Center said that a letter has been sent to Thankot police branch for his arrest and legal proceedings. They were married nine years ago according to their tradition and have a 5-year-old son.
