The National Youth Association of Nepal, which is close to the CPN-UML, has staged a demonstration in Garuda Bazaar in the central part of Rautahat demanding the announcement of the date of local elections. Hundreds of youths chanted slogans and staged a demonstration in Garuda organized by the district committee of the Youth Association.

The demonstration started from the building of Tulsilal Memorial Foundation at Garuda under the leadership of District President Bal Shankar Kushwaha and turned into a corner meeting near Garuda Municipality. Addressing the corner meeting, UML district committee member Nivesh Yadav urged the cadres to retaliate as the coalition government was conspiring to postpone the local elections.
