A case has been filed against Jhuku Urab, 18, of Koshi Haraicha Municipality-1 in Morang at the district court Sunsari on August 19 on charge of attempting to sell a 13-year-old girl. Father of the victim had filed a complaint at the Area Police Office Belbari on August 18 accusing the girl of trying to sell her. The complaint states that Jhuku took the girl to Kakkadbhitta under the pretext of some work in Belbari on August 14. According to the complaint, Maiti Nepal rescued her while she was being taken across the border. Jhuku made a man rape the girl at Itahari thought the girl was returned, the complaint adds. The girl had reported the incident to her parents after escaping from the hotel after which her father filed the complaint. SI Govind Khawas of the Area Police Office Itahari said that APO Belbari arrested Jhuku on August 18. He added that search for the accused rapist is ongoing. APO Itahari said that medical test of the girl was conducted at BPKIHS Dharan on August 18.
