Cadres of Nepali Congress Narayan Khasu Magar, 27, and Pam Bahadur BC physically assaulted a CPN-UML cadre Ganesh BC, 29, in Sitganga Municipality-13 of Arghakhanchi on May 8. Ganesh's father claimed that he sustained injury on his neck after being beaten by Congress cadres while trying to stop them from distributing money to voters in the area. The attackers ran away after Ganesh's neighbor Shyam BC called villagers for help, according to him. The villagers informed the police about the incident and sent Ganesh to Kapilbastu CMC hospital from where he was referred to Jitgadhi Edmon City hospital. Inspector Shankar Khadka of DPO said that police reached the site of the incident immediately upon being informed about the incident and advised the victim to sent for treatment.
According to Juna Somai, a female ward member candidate for Sitganga Municipality-13 from the coalition, the allegation of money distribution was a lie and she alleged that they both were friends. An eyewitness Devi Prasad Adhikari stated that the incident took place while they were fooling around. The victim's father lodged a complaint against the accused at the Area Police Office, Thada on May 9.
