Ballot boxes looted in Yamunamai of Rautahat

Ballot boxes have been looted from two polling centers of Yamunamai rural municipality of Rautahat. Ballot boxes were looted from Chikna Jetharahiya 'Ka' polling station of Ward No. 1 and a polling station of Ward No. 2 of Yamunamai rural municipality.

In Yamunamai, there were repeated clashes between the cadres of Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepali Congress and CPN-UML. However, a riot broke out at the polling station and an angry mob occupied the polling station and tore up the remaining ballot papers and vandalized the ballot boxes.

In the process, a group fled with ballot boxes. Police said that the ballot boxes were recovered in wet condition. Election Officer Hari Prasad Sharma has informed that polling has been canceled in both the places.
