Cadres of CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) manhandled Nepali Congress (NC) candidate for the post of mayor of Nilakantha Municipality Bhim Prashad Dhungana at Panchakanya Secondary school polling booth in Nilakantha municipality-5 after he entered the polling center. A dispute ensued when UML and Maoist Center cadres objected to Dhungana's entry at the polling booth and accused him of canvassing voters. They manhadled him during the dispute. Dhungana did not sustain any injury in the incident.

Dhungana claimed that he did not violate the election code of conduct and stated that he was attacked immediately after entering the polling center. NC ward chairperson candidate Ram Kumar Shrestha was also reportedly beaten in the incident.
