Eight Nepali Congress supporters assaulted for not voting for opposition candidate in Myagdi

Nepali Congress  have accused CPN-UML of assaulting its female supporters in Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality-5 Malkwang of Myagdi for refusing to vote for UML candidate.

According to Congress locals Jhag Chhantyal, Rasmi Chhantyal, Khim Chhantyal, Sanam Chhantyal, Damati Chhantyal, Balkumari Chhantyal, Dilkumari Chhantyal, and Khimsara Chhantyal sustained injuries after being beaten by a group of UML cadres for not voting for their candidate. Ward chairperson candidate from Congress Amar Chhantyal alleged that the group assaulted the local Congress supporters after failing to attack him. He further added that a complaint has been lodged against those responsible for who assaulted women and villagers. 

According to the victim, the whole village has been terrorized due to the attack. The victims underwent medical treatment at the local health post and they have demanded to take legal action against the accused. CPN-UML ward committee has not issued any statement.
