The district court has sent Kishan Rai alias Shubha Rai, 22, of Chipring VDC-8 in custody on August 26 on charge of injuring his wife Kala Rai, 22, by attacking her with khukuri. The accused is held in prison branch Diktel. He had attacked his wife with khukuri on July 23. Police had arrested him three days later and charged him with murder attempt. The victim has sustained serious injuries to her head, neck and breast. She was airlifted to Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu on July 26 after her treatment could not be possible in district hospital Diktel. The couple, who was married one and half year ago, have a 7-month daughter.
