Police on July 8 arrested 19-year-old Sijan Thapa Magar of Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-6 Maithipath on the charge of raping a 20-year-old woman. The victim filed a complaint at Area Police Office Butwal on the same day accusing Sijan of raping her on July 7 by promising to marry her.

Police arrested the accused on the basis of the complaint. The victim stated that Sijan raped her at a hotel in Butwal. The victim underwent medical examination at Lumbini Provincial hospital in Butwal.
