Police on January 21 arrested 33-year-old Amitlal Chaudhary of Duhabi municipality-10  in Sunsari on the charge of attempted infanticide. According to the police, the father of a 3-day-old infant daughter left her in a jungle. Police further added that initially, the accused and his 30-year-old wife Binda Chaudhary were arrested but she was dismissed after it was found that Amitlal forced her to abandon the infant girl.
