A person has died after being assaulted by his son-in-law in Saptari. The deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Chhathu Mahato of Bodebarsain municipality-6 Khamgada in Saptari. According to DSP Naresh Kumar Singh of Saptari police, Chhathu was assaulted by his 23-year-old son-in-law Ramchandra Mahato on December 26, 2022 during a family dispute. Chhathhu who sustained serious injury in the assault returned home on April 1 after treatment. He however died at home on April 8 due to the injuries sustained in the assault. The deceased's wife filed a complaint of murder against the accused.
