District Court of Udayapur has issued an interim protection order on November 5 over the complaint of domestic violence lodged by Rewati Ghimire, 27, of Katari Municipality-8 against her husband Som Prasad Ghimire, 41. The victim lodged a complaint against her husband accusing him of assaulting her, depriving her of food and clothes and expelling her from the house. The court ordered to provide her food and clothes by creating favorable environment at her own home. The single bench of district judge Prakash Chandra Adhikari issued a preliminary verdict on the complaint lodged by the victim's party on November 5. The court also instructed to take a legal action against the accused if the incident is repeated, said advocate Kripa Ram Chaudhary. The victim had left her home on September 30 after she was physically and mentally tortured by her husband in an inebriated state. She lodged a complaint at District Court on November 4 against her husband seeking justice under Domestic Violence Act 2066.
