Biratnagar, Dec 15: A group of people gathered at Mahendra Chowk of Biratnagar in Morang district have burned the effigy of the British Ambassador to Nepal Andrew Sparkesto in protest against his recent remarks which they said were against diplomatic norms. The effigy was burnt as British Ambassador to Nepal Sparkes recently wrote his views in a national daily that Nepal should keep the option of religious conversion open in the new constitution to those who want to convert to other religion, said member of the Swadharma Sanskriti Samrakshan Samiti, Nepal. The Samitee initiated the protest programme. The Samiti also condemned the Sparkes’ remarks claiming that it was against his diplomatic limitation.
