District Court has remanded Asarfi Musahar, 22, of Nichlol Thana, Aurhawa in Maharaj district, India to custody on December 16 for investigation of charge of raping a 9-year-old girl. The girl’s family had filed a complaint against him at Belatari Area Police Office on November 24 saying Musahar had abducted the girl and raped her in sugarcane field on November 23 and that they had found her the next day. The accused was arrested on November 24 and a charge of abduction and hostage taking was pressed. The girl’s medical checkup was conducted at District Hospital on November 24. In another case, Irshad Ali, 18, of Bankatti in Sunbal Municipality-9 was also remanded in prison for investigation on December 16 of charge of rape of a 17-year-old girl filed against him. The family members of the girl had filed a complaint against the accused at District Police Office on November 11 saying that he had raped the girl on November 8.
