District Court of Bhaktapur has slapped six years in prison against Anil Koju, 29, of Bhaktapur Municipality-2 on December 15 on charge of raping a girl. The court has also issued an order of Rs 1,000 in fine to the victim's mother for giving false statement at the hearing. Single bench of District Court Judge Nagendra Lal Karna issued the sentence regarding the case. The accused was arrested by the police on charge of intimidating and raping the 15-year-old girl on May 16 in room number 5 of the Family Guest House at Kamalbinayak, Bhaktapur. The victim's mother had lodged a complaint at metropolitan police branch of Jagati on the next day. The victim underwent a health checkup at Maternity Hospital in Thapathali on May 17.
