Over 500 Nepali girls forced in Delhi flesh trade

Kathmandu, 500 bhanda badi nepali mahila haru sarir byapar garna badhya. Sarita (name changed) from Butwal of Rupandehi district is one among 500 Nepali girls who are forced to confine their lives at brothels of Indian Capital, New Delhi. "A mediator named Dipak Gurung brought me here three years ago," Sarita says, "He had told me that he would find a job for me." She further shares how she began working as a sex worker. "First, I denied to do what they demanded," laments the lady, "But, they tortured me for two years and then I gave up." The woman further shares that she is not paid duly for her service, "A customer pays Indian Rs 400, but I only get 20 per cent of it from the bagnio." There are 10 licensed brothels at GB Road nearby New Delhi Railway Station. Nepali girls working at the parlours share that they are paid Indian Currency Rs 40 to Rs 400 for a sexual interaction. However, the clients are ready to pay Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000 for a whole night, says Ammar Nepali, a guard at a residential building in Kamala Bazaar. "I have been working here for four years," he said. "All these years, I have seen the hellish life of the Nepali girls." According to the sex workers, no any action has been taken by Nepali Embassy in New Delhi and stakeholders in New Delhi to rescue them or enhance their standard of life. The authorities have turned blind eyes toward these women, they add.
