Kathmandu, Thailand ma apaharan bhaeka nepali mukta gariayo. Three Nepali students abducted in Thailand were released on Tuesday. Deputy Inspector General of Police Hemanta Malla, chief of the Central Investigation Bureau, confirmed the release of the trio studying at Assumption University. They were made public at 2pm Thai local time. Ronesh Shrestha, Bidhush Rijal and Karna Hathechhu were abducted on Friday. Abductors had contacted their family members demanding 100,000 Thai Baht each for the release. According to a source privy to the investigation, the kidnappers had asked the family members to collect the ransom in Nepal, making the case more mysterious. “Investigators are trying to establish the Nepal connection of the abductors,” said the source. A former student of the university was held on the abduction charge. A team led by SP Pitambar Adhikari had reached Bangkok to coordinate with the Thai police in the search. Karna’s father, Krishna Hathechhu—a renowned political scientist—said he had contacted his son after their release.
