2014-12-30

DAMAK, Akhtiyaarle Jhapako 6 ota college ma chaapa maare. DEC 30 - The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) raided six colleges in Jhapa district on Monday. The educational institutions have been raided as per the complaints lodged at the anti-graft body that some of the professors of government colleges were teaching in private colleges at the same time. The raid was also carried out as a result of rise in tendency among professors teaching in government colleges to neglect the provision of obtaining approval from the university monitoring commission to teach in private colleges. The CIAA team led by officer Bishnulal Ghimire raided Mechi Multiple Campus at Bhadrapur including five other private colleges and higher secondary schools in the district. The CIAA team seized attendance registers, routine of the professors among other documents from the colleges. The team also inquired whether the professors at the public campuses teach as well as invest in them. Umanath Oli, the chief at Mechi Multiple Campus, admitted that the professors have invested in some private colleges and also take classes there. “The provision that a professor teaching in government colleges should obtain approval from the university monitoring commission to teach in private colleges came into effect just one and half years ago, but some professors are found to have been doing so even before the provision came into effect,” he claimed. Oli himself has invested in a Birtamod-based college.
