40-year-old Dillisher Rai and 30-year-old Rajan Rai of Sungdel VDC-3, who have been accused of raping a 25-year-old married woman, have been remanded in custody by the District Court on February 1. The accused reportedly broke the door of her house around 11 pm on December 28, took her out in her kitchen garden where they raped her. The victim filed a complaint against the duo at Area Police Office, Baxila on December 29 leading to their arrest on January 3. District Court Judge Ishwari Prasad Gautam sent them to prison on remand, registrar Dor Narayan Shrestha said.
